Removal procedure

We will be glad to see you on exhibition ANGA Cable 2009, which will take place 26 - 28 May in Cologne Fair Grounds, Hall 10.2, stand K48, Cologne, Germany
  • Remove the intermediate props.
  • Remove the wedge of the lowering head through a hammer hit (the head is to lower by 6 cm).
  • Turn and remove the transverse formwork beams (the beams under the plywood splice shall remain in place).
  • Remove the plywood.
  • Remove the longitudinal and transverse formwork beams.
  • Extract the lowering heads, then remove the supports and remove the tripods.

Profits of using the supports after removal of formwork:

Depending on construction course, some additional supports may be needed to withstand the loads of fresh concrete slip or loads at concrete casting of upper flooring.

Proper positioning of additional supports:

The function of additional supports is to evenly distribute the loads between the fresh-made flooring and the old flooring underneath. The loads depend on the ratio of the floorings degree of cure.

Numeric ratios for the additional supports and props of formwork are defined by the following limit indices:

  • 0.4 of additional supports shall be sufficient per one formwork prop in case the two floorings are of the same stiffness;
  • 0.8 of additional supports shall be sufficient per one formwork prop in case the lower flooring (i.e. the foundation slab) is of greater stiffness.

Get a consultation

Generally, irrespective of the particulars specified above, the use of additional supports is to be discussed with a specialist. Special cases when multi-type systems are used, require the help of a specialist performing statistical estimations.

Main rule:

The formwork is to be removed, as a general case, from the middle part towards the ends. In case of big spans this is a MANDATORY rule!
